Hello world! My non-traditional path in life has recently taken me through Codeup's web development bootcamp program! I graduated on February 27th and am still seeking employment during this unprecedented time while also learning new skills on my own such as JavaScript frameworks, C#, and testing.
For the past five years I've been running my own small business as a Partnered Twitch Broadcaster which started as a hobby when I was about to deploy with the Air Force. This past decade has been a wild ride between the military and the entertainment industry but I am very excited to transition into the world of coding in 2020 as a software developer with all the training Codeup has provided.
My coding adventure began in the middle of August starting with the pre-work required to attend Codeup's web development course! The past several months have been crammed with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Java, and projects with my peers from the Deimos Cohort. The instructors enabled each of us to accelerate our learning by providing a clear and concise cirriculum on what the industry wants today from software developers applying for jobs. Koopatroopa787, that was the username I created on Twitch over five years ago. I didn't realize it at the time but this was the first step in one of the wildest adventures I'd ever experience in my life. It started out as just a hobby to connect with others that shared similar interests. I had a full-time job and was also scheduled to deploy with the Air Force to Kuwait so I had no intention of making Twitch TV a money machine; although, two weeks later after starting I became an official Twitch Partner with permanent front page advertising which also lead to me establishing my first small business!

My military experience includes over six years of service in both active duty and the reserves. I am fully trained as a five level in both Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory (PMEL) and Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE). In 2014, I extended my contract so that I could deploy with my unit to Kuwait to support mission Iraqi Freedom. After my return I decided to separate honorably to build my small business as a partnered broadcaster on Twitch and use my GI Bill benefits to continue expanding my knowledge.
